Mission Statement:
Our Program is actively working to achieve and maintain the Environmental Partner and Green Hotel standards promoted by the International Association of Conference Centers and the Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program. We are committed to the ethic of reduce, reuse and recycle and believe it is our responsibility as business owners and consumers to prevent pollution, conserve energy and use wisely.

We will work to improve our resource efficiency, materials management and other areas of our operations to ensure environmental safety and quality for ourselves, for our employees and our guests through the following:

  • Improve our environmental performance through utilization of best practices, training and recognition of excellence
  • Utilize technology to conserve energy
  • Reduce the waste we produce
  • Recycle the waste we produce
  • Take action to decrease our carbon footprint
  • Purchase locally sourced products to reduce fuel waste on transportation
  • Purchase sustainable non toxic products where possible
  • Promote effective environmental management by our vendors and contractors
  • Promote environmental responsibility into daily operations and decision making
Recycling
  • Hotel has recycling program for cardboard
  • Hotel recycles cooking grease and oils
  • Recycle light bulbs
  • Recycle batteries & transformers
  • Recycle print cartridges
  • Recycle phone books
Energy and Resource Management
  • Highly efficient centrifugal chillers equipped with variable speed drives for cooling needs
  • All boilers for domestic hot water recently replaced with efficient condensing boilers
  • Digital thermostats throughout hotel
  • Digital Energy Management System for public space
  • Energy efficient lighting installed where possible throughout hotel
  • Partnered with Acequia Comprehensive Irrigation Management
  • Laundry ozone system for all washing needs
  • Web based real time energy monitoring program in place
  • Kitchen equipped with all energy efficient appliances
  • Water conserving fixtures in guestrooms and public areas
Waste Minimization
  • Hotel uses glass and china (non-disposable) serving with the exception of "To-Go" orders
  • Hotel uses cloth napkins wherever possible
  • Donate sheets, pillow cases and old guest room amenities to local shelter.
  • A volunteer guest linen reuse program in place to reduce laundering needs
Environmentally Responsible Purchasing
  • Axminister carpets (80% wool) and Healthier Choice carpet pad utilized.
  • Work with vendors to purchase locally grown and organic products; as well as natural beef, where possible.
  • All Starbucks paper goods and cups made from recycled paper
  • Popcorn bags made from recycled paper
  • Low VOC paints utilized where possible
  • All guestroom paper products are certified through the US Green Council
  • All cleaning products are Green Seal Certified
  • "Green Committee" established within hotel

  • Qualified for Energy Star Rating of 89 percentile
